How it works
From hello to “I do,” and everything after
Planning a wedding comes with a lot of questions. Here’s exactly what happens when we work together, so you always know what comes next.
- 1
Let’s talk
It starts with a conversation. Tell me about yourselves, your date and the kind of ceremony you’re dreaming of. Once we’re a good fit, I’ll send your reservation agreement, and a deposit secures your date.
- 2
Planning meeting
For full wedding ceremonies, we’ll meet in person to get to know each other properly. For elopements and micro weddings, we’ll meet online, which is always an option if it’s easier for you. I’ll ask about your story, your values and what matters most to you, and we’ll talk through the shape of your ceremony. No question is too small.
- 3
Marriage licence support
Ontario’s licence process can feel confusing, so I’ll walk you through it: where to apply, when to apply (it’s valid for 3 months) and what to bring. If your licence is ready by our planning meeting, simply bring it along. Otherwise, please get it to me at least 7 days before your ceremony.
- 4
Your personalized script
I’ll send you a ceremony script with optional sections and gentle guidance notes, so you can shape it to fit you. Add readings, rituals, family moments or a little humour. We’ll refine it together until it feels completely yours.
- 5
Your vow cards
Writing your own vows? Send them to me and I’ll print them on keepsake vow cards for you to read at the ceremony. No crumpled paper or phones, and a lovely memento afterwards.
- 6
Rehearsal Optional
If you’d like everyone to feel confident, we can hold a rehearsal so your wedding party knows where to stand, when to walk and what to expect.
- 7
Your ceremony day
I’ll arrive early, connect with your venue, photographer and DJ, and make sure everything flows, from the order of the processional to a last little adjustment of the veil. Then you can simply be present. In 18 years I’ve only needed a back-up officiant once, so you can count on me being there.

After the “I do”
We’ll sign your licence with your two witnesses right after the ceremony. I’ll send it to the Office of the Registrar General by tracked courier. Once your marriage is registered, you can order your official marriage certificate from ServiceOntario.
